Brokeback Mountain (2005) **** of ****. The simple depressing score solidified the life out of balance mood of this tragic tale. The romantic development between all couples was a bit weak, but time was limited. Ennis was emotionally scarred and doomed to be lonely, and it was that basic doom that drove the story. The direction was steady and led us along the path at the right pace. The lead 4 actors did very well at bringing us into their charater's personalities, and making us sympathize with their pain. The cinematography was great, and the art direction was effective at setting time and place.
