Definately not your conventional type of movie, the Brothers Grimm was easier to understand lol But as my bf said, the story unfolds as it goes along. There were only us 2 in there at first and we thought it was only gonna be us, then at the last minute 2 more ppl came in laugh.gif

I read online that someone said half the room walked out on it. I was waiting to see Heath and when you first see him, ..I had to catch my breath.

Then the bit where Johnny Depp comes in, it just hit me that Heath really is gone and I felt so sad and the things Depp says in the movie about death and dying young, it was emotional.

You can see towards the end on Lily Cole's arm where she is wearing a red dress and she brushes a guy's face you can see the love heart tattoo she got for Heath.

No publicity for it here, I only knew it was out when we went to the cinemas last sunday to see 'this is it' and I saw it was out!
Georgia Girl
I'm sure it was emotional!
HeathBaby
Wow so you've seen it!! you know what,im afraid that i'll be the only one in there too or that very few ppl show up..i know i shouldn't care right? but whatever, let's see what happens when it's my turn! so did you like it? i hope it's not too complicated for me LOL gosh i wanna go see it sad.gif
CMS
I think the best thing is to try not too hard to understand it and just let it take you on the ride, it just unfolds as it goes along. I just read the plot of it online to get a vague idea and then went and saw it, it's waaay out there lol
HeathBaby
laugh.gif Yeah i guessed you'd say that christina,i'll literally have to wait and see,so far there isn't a specific opening date for mexico mellow.gif

I envy everyone who has already seen it. It won't come out in Germany until January and it's written in the stars if they will play it in a theater close to where I live.

I've read the script though and it does sound really promising. I even understood it laugh.gif
HeathBaby
laugh.gif That's good news,Dream..Im looking forward to seeing it too.

By the way Welcome to Heathbaby,i don't think i've seen you before biggrin.gif
MrsTaylor
I'm not sure I'm strong enough to watch it..it is so confrontating to come to the part where Johnny comes in..even thinking about it makes me feel very bad..
CMS
It goes to Heath jumping in the mirror then Johnny with his bit on death which is sad cuz all I thought about was Heath then Heath comes back into it again. It's like a rollercoaster of emotions.
HeathBaby
That's gonna be tough for sure,i was just reading a magazine today, and saw a little article whit Brad Pitt on it,they were talking about his next projects, and one of them is a movie called,Tree of Life, wich originally was Heath's...i just felt my heart sink,it made me feel so bad,and i've been kinda blue all day,so seeing TIODP will be the same if not worst.. mellow.gif

I just bought tickets for the pre-premiere rolleyes.gif
I thought I wouldn't get to see the movie until january but now I just read about the pre-premiere on the 21st of december and I didn't even consider NOT spending those 10€ on a ticket. I was lucky. Almost all the seats were gone already.

Gosh, less than a month laugh.gif

Hello, I have been reading your comments and felt like sharing my experience as well. I saw it on xmas day, needed to go a bit away from my comfort zone to see it, but it was worth the trip. As soon as I saw Heath my eyes starring tearing, then just enjoyed the ride until the scene with Johnny Depp. I became sad again, and felt such a relief when Heath came back. I was anticipating that he may return any time, but it did not happened. It was a bitter sweet experence for me.
ChekhovActor
just got back from seeing it

heath was just as good as he was in the dark knight, if you have a keen eye

but can somebody explain the whistle thing??

tony seemed more wicked than the devil himself
CMS
I'm baffled by the whistle thing too
Scott
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009) Is an imaginative tale of story telling from the mind of Terry Gilliam. The underlying motivations were not well developed, but it was a fun film that provoked a little thought. There was a full crowd and the film ended with a round of applause from the audience. Congrats to Terry Gilliam.

I took the whistle to be like a Pied Piper thing. I could be way off though.

Tony did indeed seem to be wicked, but master of the Imaginarium was drunk at the time so the severity is slightly debatable.

can you explain the pied piper thing, im not familiar with it
Scott
The Pied Piper of Hamelin is one of the tales of the Brothers Grimm, and it is described on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pied_Piper_of_Hamelin

Tony kind of led people into the Imaginarium with a magical skill. That is the same skill with which a charity orginizer gets money from the donors.

A flute in the throat would not help much while being hung, but it was part of how they developed the story.

I've got it here..on the table, on DVD. But I'm to scared to watch it. Afraid I will cry, afraid the big hurt of losing him comes again. Do you understand what I mean?

I know what you mean.I'll get my copy next month. But I don't think I will watch
it right away.If I watch it at all.
CMS
I've pre-ordered mine, I've seen it so I know what to expect but it's my feeling Heath wants us to see it as he worked so hard on it and was proud of his work. It's still emotional though.

Exactly! If I watch it at all..

Then again, you are right also CMS.

I just saw it..I finally did.
It's amazing, but it was awful to see the heart tattoo on Lily's arm at one point.
It's quite something..depressing, sad, but happy to see him. It sucks he's not here anymore.
Georgia Girl
Still haven't watched it!
MrsTaylor
Do it soon GG. You won't regret it.

Yes, I also noticed the heart tattoo in the cinema, and the bit with Johnny talking about death, it's all too bittersweet.
